Mustangs close season with ninth-place finish in NJCAA DII Women’s Golf South District Championships

The Northeast Alabama Community College women's golf team closed out the 2026 season with a ninth-place finish in the National Junior College Athletic Association Division II South District Championships.

The two-round tournament was played Wednesday and Thursday at Cider Ridge Golf Club in Oxford. The district champion and runner-up as well as the Top-10 individual finishers advanced to compete in next month's NJCAA Division II National Championships in Tuscaloosa.

Jillian Lyness led NACC's Round 2 effort. The freshman shot an 88 during Thursday's final round and finished 26th in the individual standings.

Meanwhile, sophomores Angel Fulks and Taylor Bishop shot 100 and 110 respectively in Thursday's final round.
