NACC women’s golf team ninth after South District’s opening round
Sullivan three shots back of national-qualifying cut line entering Thursday's final round
The Northeast Alabama Community College women's golf team is ninth after Wednesday's opening round of the 2026 National Junior College Athletic Association Division II Women's Golf South District Tournament.
NACC shot a combined team score of 390 in Round 1 and is one shot back of Coastal Alabama-North for eighth place.
The second and final round is Thursday at Cider Ridge Golf Club in Oxford.
The South District champion and runner-up, as well as the Top-10 finishing golfers in the individual standings, advance to next month's NJCAA Division II Women's Golf National Championships at the Ol' Colony Golf Complex in Tuscaloosa.
Gracie Sullivan paced NACC's first-round effort with an 86. The freshman is part of a four-way tie for 18th in the individual standings after a Round 1 performance that included eight pars and a birdie on the Par-3 No. 14 hole. Sullivan is three shots back of 10th place entering the final round.
Freshman Jillian Lyness is 31st heading into the final round for NACC after shooting an opening-round 92. Sophomore Taylor Bishop is 43rd after carding an opening-round 98 while sophomore Angel Fulks is 48th after shooting a 114.
NACC goes to the tee box early for Thursday's final round. Fulks is the first Mustang to tee off at 8 a.m. while Bishop follows at 8:10 a.m., Lyness at 8:20 a.m. and Sullivan at 8:30 a.m.
