NACC seventh at ACCC Men’s Golf Championships entering final round
Holt, Roberts near the top of individual leaderboard
The Northeast Alabama Community College men's golf team turned in two solid rounds during the 2026 Alabama Community College Conference Men's Golf Championships.
The Mustangs are currently in seventh place entering Tuesday's final round following first- and second-round play Monday at Cypress Creek Golf Club in Muscle Shoals.
NACC shot 10-over par in the opening round and 12-over in the second round. The Mustangs enter Round 3 just two shots behind sixth-place Calhoun. Shelton State leads the tournament at 3-under par.
Freshman Braden Holt and sophomore Ethan Roberts paced the NACC effort on Monday.
Holt sits in eighth-place on the individual leaderboard — he is four shots off the lead, which is shared by a trio of golfers who are 3-under par — heading into Round 3 after finishing the first two rounds at 1-over par. He shot a 2-over par 73 in Round 1 before following it up with a 1-under par 70 during a second-round performance that featured two birdies, 15 pars and one bogey. He had four birdies in Round 1.
Roberts is tied for ninth in the individual standings at 2-over par. He turned in a 3-under par 68 in the opening round before carding a 5-over 76 in Round 2. Roberts' opening round included an eagle on the par-5 No. 3 hole as well as four birdies and nine pars.
Sophomore Reed Potter is tied for 28th place after shooting a 4-over par 75 in both the first and second rounds for NACC while freshman Reece McKlintok is tied for 35th after posting a 7-over par 78 in Round 1 and a 4-over par 75 in Round 2. Sophomore Greyson Widgeon is tied for 46th after shooting a 12-over par 83 in Round 1 and a 6-over par 77 in Round 2.
