Mustangs finish 11th at Women’s Spring Golf Invitational
NACC golfers post 18-shot Round 2 improvement
The Northeast Alabama Community College women's golf team closed the final round of its second spring golf tournament on a strong note.
The Mustangs turned in an 18-shot improvement from its Round 1 total during the second and final round of the Snead State Women's Golf Spring Invitational at Azalea City Golf Course in Mobile Monday and Tuesday.
Freshman Jillian Lyness led the Mustangs with a 30th-place finish in the individual standings, up five spots in the standings from Round 1 after shooting a second-round 87.
Freshman Gracie Sullivan followed with a second-round 90 to move up eight spots for a 35th-place individual finish for NACC while sophomore Angel Fulks shot a 103 and sophomore Taylor Bishop a 109.
NACC finished 11th in the team standings.
The Mustangs return to tournament play March 9-10 in the Jefferson State Women's Spring Invitational at Marcus Pointe Golf Club in Pensacola, Florida.
