Four Mustangs tabbed NJCAA All-Americans
NACC’s Edwards, McCluskey, Sullivan and Weston honored by National Junior College Athletic Association
Four members of the national champion Northeast Alabama Community College softball team have received national honors from the National Junior College Athletic Association.
NACC freshman pitcher Addie Edwards, freshman third basemen Marti McCluskey and freshman outfielder Lorelai Sullivan have been named NJCAA Division I Softball First-Team All-American while sophomore outfielder Kiley Weston was named NJCAA DI Softball Third-Team All-American.
NACC head coach Joe Guthrie was "really proud" to see the efforts of those players recognized on the national scene.
"They have worked really hard to earn the right to call themselves the best in the country," Guthrie said.
The NJCAA released its 2026 All-American teams for Division I, II and III on Wednesday.
Edwards, McCluskey and Sullivan were also named All-Americans last week by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, which also tabbed Edwards its NJCAA DI Pitcher of the Year and McCluskey its Player of the Year.
Edwards, a right-handed pitcher from Chatsworth, Georgia, turned in a perfect 34-0 season in the pitching circle. She led the NJCAA in wins, ERA (1.12) and WHIP (0.79) while tossing 32 complete games and recording three saves and 219 strikeouts in 211 2/3 innings pitched. She was previously named the Alabama Community College Conference Pitcher of the Year, was the ACCC Pitcher of the Week seven times during the regular season, was the ACCC Tournament MVP, a NJCAA All-South Region first-team selection and was the Alabama Sports Writers Association's Community College Athlete of the Year.
