NACC’s World Series game postponed

The Northeast Alabama Community College Softball team will have to wait another day to play its second game of the 2026 National Junior College Athletic Association Division I Softball World Series.

A lengthy weather delay wreaked havoc on Wednesday's schedule at Choccolocco Park in Oxford, ultimately delaying the start of numerous elimination bracket games and the postponement of all non-elimination games until Thursday.

Third-seeded NACC will now play sixth-seeded Odessa (Texas) in a winners bracket quarterfinal game Thursday at 11:15 a.m. on Field 2. 

A win against Odessa would advance the Mustangs to a winners bracket semifinal matchup Thursday at 8:15 p.m. at Choccolocco Park's Signature Field. A loss to Odessa would drop NACC into a 3:45 p.m. elimination game at the Signature Field. If NACC losses its first game Thursday and wins its second game, it would play another elimination game Thursday night at 8:15 p.m. on Field 2.

Tickets for the 2026 NJCAA Division I Softball World Series, available by on-site purchase only, are $15 per day and tournament passes are available for $40 per person. Children ages five and under are admitted free. In the event of a rain delay or game suspension due to weather, or any other reason, anyone with a valid wristband will be admitted to the rescheduled game. Tournament wristbands cannot be exchanged or refunded for any dollar value. Parking is available at the complex for $5 per vehicle each day. Games will also be streamed on the NJCAA Network with a cost of $12 dollars per day or a $15 pass for the entire tournament. 

All remaining NACC games in the 2026 NJCAA DI Softball World Series will be streamed on ESPN+.

9 a.m. - Game 22: Seminole vs. Temple (Field 2)

11:15 a.m. - Game 23: Northeast Alabama vs Odessa (F2) 

11:15 a.m. - Game 24: Paris vs. Northwest Florida State (SF)

1:30 p.m. - Game 25: Game 19 winner vs. Game 21 loser (SF)

1:30 p.m. - Game 26: Game 20 winner vs. Game 22 loser (F2)

3:45 p.m. - Game 27: G17 winner vs. G23 loser (SF)

3:45 p.m. - Game 28: Arizona Western vs. G24 loser (F2)

6 p.m. - Game 31: G21 winner vs. G22 winner (SF)

6 p.m. - Game 29: G25 winner vs. G26 winner (F2

8:15 p.m. - Game 32: G23 winner vs. G24 winner (SF)
