After sweeping its Alabama Community College Conference opening series, the Northeast Alabama Community College softball team has swept the ACCC's weekly player awards.

Sophomore outfielder Kiley Weston has been named the ACCC Division I Softball Player of the Week while freshman pitcher Addie Edwards was named the ACCC Division I Pitcher of the Week.

They were honored for their efforts during No. 4 nationally-ranked NACC's four-game sweep of conference foe Calhoun.

Edwards was named the ACCC Pitcher of the Week for the second consecutive week and the fifth time this season. The right-hander from Chatsworth, Georgia posted two wins and a save during the Calhoun series while recording 18 strikeouts and allowing only two runs on seven hits and two walks over 14 1/3 innings pitched.

For the season, Edwards is 12-0 with two saves and an ACCC-best 0.65 ERA while allowing a league-low seven earned runs over 75 1/3 innings pitched. Edwards also leads the conference in strikeouts with 88 and her 0.58 walks plus hits per inning rate is also tops in the ACCC. She also leads the conference in complete games (12), shutouts (nine) and opponents' batting average against (.143) while sporting an 88:7 strikeout-to-walk ratio.

Meanwhile, Weston is the first Mustang hitter/fielder to win the ACCC's Player of the Week award this season. In four games last week, the Hayden, Alabama native batted .571 (8-for-14) with three doubles, two walks, five runs and eight RBIs for the 23-1 Mustangs.

Weston is currently tied for the ACCC lead in triples (four) and is third in the conference in hits (37), fourth in both doubles (nine) and RBIs (27), fifth in batting average (.468) and eighth in both stolen bases (10) and on-base percentage (.533).
