The Northeast Alabama Community College (NACC) Mustangs men's soccer team claimed an impressive 5–1 victory over Enterprise State Community College (ESCC) on Thursday night in Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC) play. Head Coach Tom Shanklin praised his team's focus and execution, calling the game a strong statement performance. "I'm proud of these young men for winning a revenge match against ESCC—and the form in which they did it was amazing," said Shanklin. "To win a game 5–1 and have five different athletes contribute to the score shows how unselfish and connected this team has become."
NACC came out strong in the first half, finding the back of the net three times before the break. Goals were scored by Jose Arreguin, Adam Shumate, and Junior Duarte, with assists from Bladimir Cervantes, Alexis Cano, and Daniel Heredia.
In the second half, the Mustangs extended their lead with goals from Alexis Vega and Bladimir Cervantes, sealing the 5–1 win. Cervantes led the team with one goal and two assists, while Shumate added a goal and an assist.

Following the victory, the Mustangs and their families shared a celebratory meal—authentic street tacos and quesadillas prepared by parents of team members. "We ended the night sharing great food together, which speaks to the family dynamic every successful program needs," Shanklin said. "A special thanks to the Perez family, parents of Oscar Perez—our starting CDM and an Albertville High School graduate—for providing the meal."
Shanklin also highlighted the significance of playing in front of local supporters. "With so many players from the Marshall County area—including Boaz, Guntersville, and Albertville—it was great to play at Sand Mountain Park and give those communities a chance to come out and support their Mustangs," he added. "The team did not disappoint!"
NACC's new home soccer field will be completed soon, giving the Mustangs a permanent home venue for future matches and fan events. With the win, NACC strengthens its standing in the Alabama Community College Conference and continues to build momentum heading into the final games of the inaugural season.
